Hannah Purdy
Student Ministry Intern
Hannah Purdy grew up in Lubbock, Texas where she attended Quaker Avenue Church of Christ. Through her parents, family, and church, she grew in her faith and came to know the love of God. Growing up, she loved spending time playing games with her family, reading, and trying out new hobbies. Hannah attended Lubbock Christian University, pursuing a degree in education. In June of 2023, she started her first summer as an intern for Southwest Student Ministry. After a great summer of building relationships with the students and pursuing God, she remembers thinking, "I wish I could do this forever." She was grateful for the opportunity to return the next two summers and is looking forward to continuing to serve throughout this year.
Hannah graduated from LCU in May of 2025 with a degree in secondary education. She is excited and thankful for the opportunity to work with Southwest Church of Christ and their students. One of her favorite verses is Romans 12:3-21, and verses nine through twelve sum up her passion for youth ministry: "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil, cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality." Hannah's hope is to build relationships, practice being a disciple, and in all things, glorify God.
